Below are some of our frequently asked questions.

What time is check in/out?

Check in: 3.30pm on your arrival day.

Check out: 10am on your day of departure.

Do you take a security/damage deposit prior to a stay?

We do not take a security/damage deposit for stays in Wagtails, we hope all guests treat our properties with respect. Guests remain liable for any damage caused.

How do I get to White Post Cottages?

We are located within easy reach of the M5 and A38. You will receive detailed directions after you’ve made your booking.

How do I get the key?

You will be able to see all your check in details by logging into the My Booking section of our website about 4 weeks before your holiday (use your email address and booking reference number to do this). There is a key safe for use during your stay.

Do you allow dogs?

Yes, we allow up to 4 dogs. There is a charge of £25 per dogs. You will need to add your dogs as a chargeable extra once you have confirmed your booking. Note that we have dog rules which must be agreed to before your stay and strictly adhered to.

How dog friendly are you?

We like to think we are very dog friendly! Dogs are allowed on sofas and chairs if you use the throws provided. We provide dog bowls, towels, poo bags and treats as well as a comprehensive list of local dog walks.

In Wagtails dogs are allowed in the downstairs bedroom and the outside shower is warm!

The gardens are fully fenced but by no means guaranteed as dog proof as we know some dog houdinis specialise in escape!

Please ensure you have read our Dog Rules before planning to bring your pet.

Can I have groceries delivered?

Yes you can. Tesco, Waitrose, Asda, Ocado and Sainsburys will deliver to White Post Cottages. Please arrange deliveries for after your 4pm arrival and please put the cottage name on the delivery information along with your mobile number.

Where is the nearest supermarket?

Wellington is 3 miles away and has four supermarkets – Lidl, Waitrose, Asda and Co-op. There are also lots of small independent shops such as an excellent butchers and delicatessen.

Taunton is further away (10 miles) but has more supermarkets including Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Lidl and Morrisons.

Where is the nearest EV charger

Lidl in Wellington is 3 miles away (10 minutes) - to avoid the lanes drive to Wellington first and then follow signs out to Taunton.

Is the hot tub for our exclusive use ?

Yes! Wagtails has a 4 person hot tub in the garden and it is very private and cannot be overlooked. Our staff will need to check these periodically throughout your stay but never when you are using them.

We supply towels but recommend you bring sandals or crocs to wear between the house and the tub.

Can we have visitors during our stay?

You can have friends to visit you during your stay, as long as it’s been agreed with us beforehand. However, guests aren’t allowed to stay overnight unless they’ve been included as members of your party on your booking form.

What is supplied at the property?

Bed linen and towels: All duvets, pillows and bed linen are provided. Bath towels, hand towels and hot tub towels are also supplied for each guest.

Consumables: 2 toilet rolls per toilet, salt and pepper, tea, coffee, sugar, and cooking oil, washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, tea towels, a dish cloth and scourer sponge, oven gloves, kitchen roll, tin foil, cling film, bin bags and hand soap. Cleaning products for bathroom and kitchen.

Kitchen and white goods: Wagtails has a large range style oven with gas hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, washing machine, dryer and coffee machine.

There is enough crockery, cutlery and glasses for all guests plus spares. Plastic glasses for use in hot tub.

There is an iron and ironing board. There is a hoover and mop and bucket (should you feel the need!)

Baby & children: Cot and bedding, highchair and stairgates are provided. There are also a small selection of toys and books suitable for children.

Outside: Garden furniture, parasol, BBQ (charcoal), shed for storage (not lockable).

Is there WIFI/Mobile phone coverage?

We have 4G broadband and good mobile phone coverage.

Smoking

Note that smoking or vaping is not allowed anywhere in the cottage. Fireworks are not allowed either.

Are there good places to eat nearby?

The Martlett pub is a 10 minutes walk from the cottage and serves good food.

White Post Café is 5 minutes up the track and serves coffee, cake and lunches.

Wellington and Wiveliscombe have many more pubs, cafes and takeaways.

Do we need holiday insurance?

Whilst we don’t insist that you have holiday insurance, we think it’s a good idea to do so. A good travel insurance policy is likely to cover cancellation of your booking due to most reasons beyond your control.
