We want you and your dog to be competely happy and relaxed on your holiday so we have compiled a short guide to help answer some questions before your stay:

  • Unlike some so-called dog friendly cottages, we are happy for your dogs to go on sofas and provide snuggly teddy bear throws for them to sit on - if you require more please just ask and we'll pop them around.
  • We know you want to get straight out and explore the area with your buddy, so we have supplied maps and guides to nearby walks - some from the front door and others further afield. There is also a guide of dog friendly beaches all within an hour's drive of Woodlands.
  • You and your four-legged friend should be welcomed everywhere you go so we have compiled a list of dog friendly cafes and pubs nearby to take the worry out of finding a place where you can both get refreshment.
  • Our large garden is shaded by mature trees and totally fenced - we never guarantee its 100% dog-proof as some dogs specialise in Houdini-type escape acts but feedback so far from guests has been positive and people have felt their dogs are safe.

Happy dog at White Post Cottages

  • Don't worry if you forget some bits - spare dog bowls are provided in the plastic box by the front door – please wash and return after use.  We also supply poo bags.
  • If your dog gets hurt whilst out on a walk and playing in the park then there is the number for the local vet in the doggy handbook.
  • If your dog returns from a walk dirty then there is a hose to wash them off and doggy towels so you can ensure they are clean and dry before returning into the cottage.
  • Please make sure all dogs are booked in so we can make sure there are enough towels and throws available for all of your pack.

Happy dog in White Post Cottages garden

  • We supply poo bags and shovel to make cleaning up those little (or big) parcels super easy - you can then dispose of them in the black bin provided.
  • We find unattended dogs get sad or anxious without you so please feel free to contact one of the many pet sitters or walkers in the area - details in the doggy handbook.
  • Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate dogs in bedrooms in Woodlands and we realise that sometimes it can be hard to explain to a dog where they can and can't go - if you are having a communication problem with your canine then our stair gates and moveable baby gate may help make this easier.

Sometimes nothing beats a real conversation so if you have questions about the suitability of Woodlands for you or your dog then please call or email.
